West Branch, Iowa Thomas Robert “Bob” Sexton, 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City. Funeral service will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Visitation will be 4 to 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in the Downey Cemetery. Bob was born March 6, 1930 in Johnson County, Iowa the son of Harry and Agnes (Jensen) Sexton. He attended Downey School and served in the US Navy from 1948 – 1952. He was a semi truck driver and farmed in the West Branch area for many years. He enjoyed stock car and NASCAR racing as well as watching all sports. He is survived by two sons: Jerry (Tammy) Sexton and Bobby Sexton and his significant other Laurie Dauber all of West Branch. Six grandchildren: Toni (Shaun Hansel) Sexton, Tara (Zack) Thomas, J.D. (Jenna) Sexton, Jackie (J.J. Hayslett) Sexton, McKenna Sexton and Kaleb Sexton as well as 5 great grandchildren. Siblings: Lawrence (Marilyn) Sexton of Downey, Laura Slach of West Branch, Paul (Myrt) Sexton of West Branch, sister-in-laws: Althea Sexton of Washington, Rosemary Sexton of West Branch, Dorothy Sexton of Lone Tree, and Doris (Doug) Ratliff of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 5 brothers: George, Maynard, Ross, John and Bill.
