So sorry, I just learned about this. I always admired your mom, she was always so full of life. You were fortunate to have her as long as you did. When my Mom died a friend wrote me, "We are never ready to lose our mothers." I agree.
It is always tough losing a parent no matter what stage in life. I remember Edie while growing up in West Liberty and especially when she and my mom were at Heath Manor together. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Birkett families.
