West Branch, Iowa Mary L. Jensen, 73, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Crestview Nursing and Rehab Center in West Branch. Funeral mass will be held 10 A.M. Friday, August 26, 2016 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in West Branch. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch where a scripture service will be held at 7:30. Mary was born August 30, 1942 in Iowa City the daughter of William P. and Lavona (Cerny) Leonard. She was a graduate of West Branch High School. Mary had been employed as a secretary with the University of Iowa and later served at the West Branch School Board Secretary for 33 years. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, enjoyed baking, gardening, was a avid Iowa Hawkeye Basketball fan and most importantly enjoyed her grandchildren. She was an active church and community member. She is survived by two children: Mark (Michelle) Jensen or Cedar Rapids and Brenda (Mike) Bender of Kalona, brother William J. "B.J." Leonard of Solon. Preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters Rita Serbousek and Eileen Rogers.
