Carolyn Marie Richardson Thompson, 78, of Kansas City, KS and formerly of West Branch, passed away on Mar. 15, 2010, at Research Medical Center.
Funeral service will held 6 P.M. Monday March 22, 2010 at the Friends Church in West Branch. Graveside service will be held 10 A.M. Tuesday at the West Branch Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Brazil Inland Mission.
Carolyn was born on Feb. 23, 1932 in Pontiac, MI. She was a loving mother and grandmother, the oldest of six children, a pastor’s wife and a kindergarten teacher at Kansas City Christian School for 16 years. She was also a sales associate at The Jones Store and Macy’s at Metcalf South for many years.
She was preceded in death 40 years earlier by her husband, Rev. James Wesley Thompson as well as her brother, Robert. Survivors include one son, Daniel Thompson of Mission, KS; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Keslar of Greensboro, NC and Mrs. Melissa Kunellis of Kansas City, MO; 11 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 8 step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Ben and David and her sisters Mrs. Libby Parrish and Mrs. Mary Ellen Schloesser.
