I miss Denise. Not because she was first-rate at everything she did professionally, but because she gave me a hard time and made me laugh. I'm thankful I had the chance to work with Denise while I was department chairthere aren't enough people who can both do outstanding work and not let anyone take themselves too seriously (very important at the U of Imiss you, Denise).

I am so deeply sorry for your loss!:( Denise was a wonderful coleague and also a good friend of mine. She was always ready to help me solve small -and big issues- , but most importantly, she would always do it graciously and with a big smile in her face. I was so shocking about Denise. She left us too early. She was a great person and always smiles, tease each other and gave me hugs each time when I see her at work almost everyday. She always told me how great my mom was while she worked at school where Denise attended school. She is great help us at work too. We will miss her and her smiles.

You were my sister from another mother. I loved you so very much and have such wonderful memories of the summers we spent together as kids. I also remember the popcorn I made for you that was burned to a crisp. You ate it and said it was wonderful as you choked down every black kernel. You were there for me during my "mournings". You never said a harsh word about anyone. You stood up for your kids and what was right. You taught them to be strong, and they will be. I will miss you terribly. I love you.

I worked with Denise at MCI and was her leader for a number of years. She was always smiling or laughing about something. One thing you could tell is that she was very proud of her children and grandchildren. My condolences and I hope the family finds peace and strength in God's word.

Denise, even though you won't be reading this, I'm still going to talk to you. We started our journey in this life together in 1986. As the years went on we became good friends. After we introduced you to Dean you asked me to be in your wedding. I was honored by that. Remember all the fun times at the races, spending Saturdays getting groceries together. Baking ourselves in the sun with baby oil. I know the picture taken in your kitchen with the quarters always brought tears of laughter for us. There are to many memories to recall today, but I will treasure each and everyone with you in my heart. Your kids have been everything a parent could ask for. You put so much time and effort into each of their lives, and that's what made them the respectful young adults they are today. I will miss your contagious smile and your huge heart forever.
