West Liberty, Iowa Lois A. Kirby, 95, passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Lois was born July 25, 1920 in Muscatine County, Iowa the daughter of Glen C. and Alma (Pinney) Walker. She attended country schools until the 8th grade and graduated from West Liberty High School in 1938. On June 8, 1940 she was united in marriage to Harold Kirby in Cedar Rapids. She was employed with the West Liberty School system for many years working in the kitchen as well as driving the kindergarten bus route and later at the Simpson Memorial Home kitchen for 11 years. Member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by two sons: David (Elaine) Kirby of Butler, PA and Dean (Sherry) Kirby of West Liberty. 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, 6 brothers Kenneth, Wayne, Lloyd, Gaylord, Lyle, Jim and three sisters Gladys Bach, Phyllis Beach and Audrey VeDepo.
