West Liberty, Iowa Marvin Lloyd Beaver, of Laurie, Missouri and formerly of West Liberty passed away January 30th, 2010 at the Laurie Care Center. Funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Marvin was born in West Liberty Iowa, December 24, 1919, to Lloyd and Sophia (Peggy) Beaver. He was a veteran of WW2, injured in battle and received the Purple Heart. After returning home he married Dorothy Whitmer in 1946. They had 3 children, Phyllis, Larry, and Vickie. Marvin farmed all his adult life north of West Liberty until his retirement. He enjoyed dancing with his wife, going to Arizona in the winter, and traveling. He is survived by one son, Larry Beaver and his wife Evelyn of Laurie, Missouri, two daughters, Phyllis Collins and her husband Chuck of Swisher, and Vickie Hrovat and her husband Dale of Chandler, Arizona, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, his brother Don Beaver and his wife Lourena of West Liberty, and his sister, Luva Jean Peterson and her husband Elmer Tipton, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, father, and brother Lawrence “Buck”.
