Treva W. McKillip, 99, formerly of Atalissa died Tuesday January 26, 2010 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.
Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Friday at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Overman Cemetery, Atalissa. Memorials may be made to Spangler United Methodist Church or Shriner’s Childrens Hospital.
Treva was born April 23, 1910 in Moscow the daughter of Grant L. and Anna E. Valet Hearst. She was a graduate of Wilton High School. On May 29, 1928 she was united in marriage to William F. McKillip. Treva and Bill began farming in the Moscow area before moving to Atalissa where they farmed all their lives.
She was a member of Spangler United Methodist Church, Penn Ave. Grange, and 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, knitting and traveling.
Survivors include her grandchildren: Christine (Dave) Draves of Muscatine, Gary (Teresa) McKillip of Muscatine, Sharon (Richard) Dickman of Lost Nation, Debra (Ron) Simpson of Atalissa, Craig (Karla) McKillip of Atalissa, Scott (Julie) McKillip of West Liberty and Joel (Sue) McKillip of Atalissa. 13 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sons: Hal and William, Grandson: Steven, Great grandson: Mike McConnaha, Brother: Carl Hearst and Sister Mae Tomasson.
