West Liberty, Iowa Jean Anne Phillips, 87, died Monday July 13, 2015 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Saturday July 18, 2015 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty where visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Jean Anne was born July 19, 1927 and adopted by Earl and Gladys Lindle on July 21, 1927. She was a graduate of West Liberty High School in the Class of 1944, she attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon and was a graduate of the University of Iowa in 1971. On January 12, 1947 she was united in marriage to Dalton “Johnny” Phillips in West Liberty, he died in 1999. She had taught school in Muscatine. Upon her retirement she and her husband traveled the United States in the winters camping in the Southwest, spending many winters in Arizona. Jean Anne was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Atalissa, Zion Lutheran Church Atalissa and the American Legion Auxiliary of West Liberty. Survivors include three children: Mitchell Earl Phillips of Las Vegas, NV, Douglas John Phillips of West Liberty and Cindy Lynn Phillips of Scottsdale, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Johnny, 2 infant sisters Virginia May and Alberta Jean.
