West Liberty, Iowa Ida E. Conklin, 85, died Sunday, August 25, 2013 in West Liberty. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at First Church United in West Liberty. Visitation will be held 4:00-8:00PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at First Church United in West Liberty. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or UnityPoint Hospice. Ida was born April 12, 1928 in Kit Carson, Colorado the daughter of Charlie and Vivian Young Prizler. She was united in marriage to Lester Conklin on December 5, 1947 in McGregor, Iowa. Ida was a cook at the University of Iowa for many years. She had also worked at the Cookson Home in West Branch, the Maid-Rite and Heath Manor in West Liberty. Ida enjoyed going to senior dining at the West Liberty Community Center every Wednesday. She loved her family, her animals and her flowers. She is survived by 3 sons, Terry Conklin of Poynette, Wisconsin, Eddie Conklin and Jerry Conklin both of West Liberty and a daughter Patty Conklin of West Liberty. She is also survived by her brother Henry Cummings of Nashville, Michigan, 5 grandchildren, Joey, Katie, Maddie, Justin and Jeromy Conklin and a great grandson Declan Conlin. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester and brother Charles Prizler.
