Muscatine, Iowa Ronald James Fankhauser, 68, died Friday May 29, 2015 at All American Care Center in Muscatine. Private family services will be held. Ron was born April 29, 1947 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Carroll and Margaret Yerington Fankhauser. He was a graduate of West Branch High School in the Class of 1965. He had served in the US Army Reserves. On October 7, 1967 he was united in marriage to Patricia Suchomel. For many years he had worked at a machinist for Rohner Machine Works in West Liberty and later in a machine shop in Rock Island. He enjoyed stock car racing, fishing, playing euchre, trap shooting and BINGO at the care center. He is survived by three daughters: Tracie Brown of Eldridge, Iowa, Kim (Troy) Hatton of El Reno, Oklahoma and Trisha Fankhauser of Williamsburg, Iowa. Mother: Margaret Fankhauser of West Liberty, four sisters Rita Bates of Muscatine, Joy (Jim) Hayslett of Iowa City, Karen (Scott) Heick of West Liberty and Kelly (Jerry) Bridenstine of West Liberty, two brothers Dick (Betty) Fankauser of Muscatine and Rick Fankhauser of Muscatine. 8 grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, father, and a brother Carroll.
