Kathleen Lynn Jacobsen, 61, died Friday, April 24, 2015 at her home in rural West Branch, after a short illness. Private family services are planned.
Kathleen was born April 1, 1954, the daughter of John and Bonnie (Hoffman) Jacobsen. She graduated from West Branch High School. Kathleen worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Ophthalmology as a Perimetrist (visual field mapping), a career at which she excelled. She loved her work and took great pride in it, especially her ability to work with even the youngest of children. Kathleen’s quick wit, quirky humor, compassion, and endless generosity will be missed by her many friends.
Survivors include her brother Dennis (Phyllis) Jacobsen of West Branch; her most cherished niece and nephews, John (Justine) Jacobsen of Coralville; Anne (Justin) Watson of Iowa City, and Daniel Jacobsen of Iowa City; and one great-niece, Rosemary Watson born May, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant twin brothers.
