West Branch, Iowa James “Jim” Keith Petersen, 91, passed peacefully Monday, February 23, 2015 at his home in West Branch. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Visitation will be held 3:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home where a Masonic Service will be held at 7 P.M. Burial with military honors will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or Hospice Compassus. James Keith Petersen was born February 10, 1924 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Edward M. and Mary Keith Petersen. He was a graduate of Rock Island High School in the class of 1942. On July 15, 1950 he was united in marriage to the former Clara Beert in Davenport. Jim and Clara had farmed in the West Branch area since 1955. He was a US Navy Veteran serving in WWII and Korea. Jim was a member of the Wapsinonoc Masonic Lodge in West Branch, KAABA Shrine, Muscatine Provost Guard and Chancey Butler American Legion Post #514 in West Branch. He enjoyed playing cards and most importantly spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife Clara of West Branch. 4 Children: Jim (Judy) Petersen of West Branch, Marijo (Don) Lilienthal of Bennett, Iowa, Jeri (Matt) Baldrige of Columbus Jct., Iowa and Lori Chaplin of Annandale, Virginia. 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents,
