West Branch, Iowa Richard Irvin Lehman, 74, a lifelong resident of West Branch except for the last two months when he resided at Legacy Pointe, Iowa City passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 with Hospice Care at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 P.M . Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Memorials may be made to the Hospice Care Unit at Mercy Hospital. Richard was born March 1, 1935 in Iowa City the son of Irvin Francis and Helen Irene Arnold Lehman. He was a 1953 graduate of West Branch High School and was in the National Guard, was a retired farmer and later worked for several farmers and farm related businesses. He enjoyed attending West Branch Bears football games. In the past years he enjoyed entering swine in the open hog class at the Johnson County Fair and was in a bowling league in Iowa City. He is survived by a brother: Gerald (Caroline) Lehman of New London, Aunt: Mildred (Bob) Siegel of Sun City West, Arizona and four nephews and their families and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and five aunts.
