Life Legacy West Liberty, Iowa Pamela June MacGowan Snider, 60, died Friday October 3, 2014 at her home in West Liberty. A celebration of life will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 6, 2014 at the West Liberty United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M. at the church. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. Private family burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be made to the Mansell Phillips American Legion Post #509. Pam was born July 14, 1954 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Glen E. and Ruth E. Faires MacGowan. She was a graduate of West Liberty High School in the class of 1972 and attended Baylor University. She had served with the United States Army for three years. For 20 years she had worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, most recently as Unit Clerk in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, she also was a Sandwich Artist at Subway. Pam was a member of the United Methodist Church, and the American Legion. She enjoyed dancing and music. Was very independent and was a loyal and steadfast friend to many. She was very proud of raising two strong men. Survivors include two sons: Carlisle “Eddie” Xavier of West Liberty and Randy (Megan) Snider of Chesapeake, Virginia. Granddaughter: Elizabeth “Izzy” , mother: Ruth MacGown and three siblings: Glenna MacGowan of West Liberty, Andrew (Marian) MacGowan of Elizabeth City, North Carolina and Janine MacGowan and her husband Ron Reitz of Dearing, New Hampshire. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
