Obituary of Sandra Anfinson

Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of my beloved mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, and Friend, Sandra Anfinson, on October 8th, 2024, at the age of 75. A beacon of love and creativity, she touched the lives of everyone around her with her warmth, kindness, and boundless imagination.

Born on December 22, 1948, Sandy was a true artist at heart. Whether she was painting, crafting, or simply bringing her ideas to life, her creative spirit knew no bounds. Her passion for art and design inspired those around her, encouraging countless others to explore their own talents.  She expressed her creativity through Paintings, which included portraits and nature. She would also paint on Saws, rocks, and stepping stones.  She then got involved in making different kinds of Fused glass designs. Whether it was a handmade gift or a lovingly prepared meal, everything she created was infused with her love and care.

As a mother, she was my greatest supporter, always cheering me on in my endeavors. Her love knew no limits, and her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, creativity, and the warmth of love. She would always go above and beyond to make sure our family gatherings, holidays, and normal family nights were filled with love and happiness.

As a grandmother, she was a source of joy and wisdom, sharing stories and laughter with her two grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and unconditional love will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Sandy is survived by her son:  Devon Hess, Daughter-in-law:  Jodi Rose-Hess.   Her Grand Daughters:  Reegan and Rowan Hess (All of Cedar Rapids, IA).  Her Three Brothers:  Mark Shepard and His Wife Kay Shepard, (Pacific Junction, IA).  Kevin Shepard and his wife Debbie Shepard, (Overland Park, KA), Kyle Shepard, (Council Bluffs, IA).

5 Nieces, 5 Nephews, 8 grand Nieces, and 7 Grand Nephews.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and resilience that will continue to inspire us every day.

A celebration of her life will be held in the Spring of 2025. A date and time along with the location will be sent out at a later date.

Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit will live on in our hearts and in every creation she inspired. We love you, Mom, Grandmother, and Friend. We will carry your memory with us always.

A celebration of life will be held Spring 2025
