Karen Neider

SIOUX CITY – Karen Neider, 80, of Sioux City passed away April 16, 2024, at home.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

Karen Elizabeth Kelleher was born Sept. 8, 1942, in Sioux City, IA., to James Leo “Stormy” and Ione (Haugen) Kelleher. Karen graduated from high school in Sioux City, IA.

Karen was united in marriage to Richard Neider and relocated to Denver, CO. After being widowed, she moved back to Sioux City, IA in 1998 and worked at Siouxland Aging Services. Karen also cared for her mother, who had cancer. After retiring, Karen enjoyed wintering in Alamo, TX, where she had a second home and many friends.

Karen, is survived by sister, Julie Haack of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sister-in-law, Shirley Frauenholtz of West Liberty, IA; niece, Terri Frauenholtz of Iowa City, IA; nephew, Rick (Marcia) Frauenholtz of North Liberty, IA; great niece, Shanna Jenks of Iowa City, IA; great nephew, Kelly (Bobbi) Jenks of West Liberty, IA;  and 2 great great-nieces, Karlie and Lila.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard in 1998; brother, James Kelleher; and sister Jane.
