Richard M. Hubler, 83, formerly of West Branch died Monday September 1, 2014 at the Mechanicsville Care and Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Visitation will be Friday, from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery, rural West Branch. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. A memorial fund has been established.
Richard Morris Hubler was born July 14, 1931 in Cedar County, Iowa the son of Milton E. and Stella Marker Hubler. He attended Cedar Valley Country School. On December 12, 1953 he was united in marriage to Paula Ohrt at the Methodist Parsonage in Tipton. He had been employed as a farm hand from several farmers in the West Branch and Tipton area for many years. Most recently he was employed with Sheller Globe in Iowa City for 12 years retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife Paula of Mechanicsville, Iowa. 6 children: Joyce Moffett of Auburn, Kansas, Richard Allen (Sara) Hubler of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Gerald Lee (Theresa) Hubler of Macon, Missouri, Regina (Mike) Sievers of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Kendra (Virgil) Husband of Muscatine, Iowa and Cindy Rocha of Cedar Bluff, Iowa. 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Brad, grandson Daniel, great granddaughter Gracie, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
