Beverly J. Blair, 93, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.
Visitation will be held 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Cedar Valley United Methodist Church, West Liberty with funeral services to be held 10:00 A.M. Monday at the church. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty.
Beverly was born May 15, 1930 in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Milton and Eva (Hetzler) Borgstadt. She attended Sweetland Center country school and later graduated from Muscatine High School.
On October 7, 1951 she was united in marriage to Jack Blair in Sweetland, Iowa. Jack and Beverly farmed together in the West Liberty area. She had also been employed part time at the West Liberty State Bank.
Beverly was a member of Cedar Valley United Methodist Church, actively volunteering with committees and activities in the church as well as serving as church organist/pianist for over 50 years. Bev was an accompanist to the “Trio” at Cedar Valley Church and played for many weddings and funerals. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting afghans and spent many hours mowing at the farm.
She is survived by her three sons: Steven Blair of West Liberty, James (Terri) Blair of West Liberty and Michael (Nancy) Blair of Humboldt, Iowa; grandchildren: Amy Heavin, Kevin Blair, and Laura (Zaheer) Hamirani, Daniel and Erica Blair, great grandchildren: Alex, Gus and Atticus Heavin and Kennedi Blair. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, daughter-in-law Joy, grandson Brian and sister Joan Eichelberger.
