Alma Rosa Ramirez, 62, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 at her home in West Liberty.

Funeral mass will be held 11 A.M.Thursday, September 28, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty.

Visitation will be held Wednesday 4 to 7 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  

Alma was born January 14, 1961 in Acuña Coahuila, Mexico the daughter of Arturo and Celia (Perez) Frausto. She was a graduate of West Liberty High School. For several years she had been employed with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty and enjoyed playing BINGO.

Alma is survived by three children: Perla Avalos Frausto of Iowa City, Rina Avalos of West Liberty and Daniel (Chelsea) Avalos of Wiley, Texas. Thirteen grandchildren: Gabe, Marco, Yesenia, Anabel, Lorenzo, Julissa, Kamryn, Austin,  Sutton, Chamberlain, Alexis, Ginette and Pablo as well as five great grandchildren: Victoria, Jonael, Giovanni, Zemira and Zareli. Nine siblings: Lupe Pena of North Carolina, Arturo Frausto Jr. of North Carolina, Raul Frausto of Forth Worth, Texas, Felipa Murguia of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Hilda Chavez of Iowa City, Celia Barraza of West Liberty, Cruz Martinez of Iowa City, Nina Hernandez of Muscatine and Barbara Navarro of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter: Nohemi Guerrero.
