A Prayer for Kris
Heavenly Father
We come before you thanking you for the life of Kris.
Kris was a loving husband, father, son and brother.
We thank you for the unique way you made Kris - just the way he was.
Kris was humble, intellectual, analytical and an incredible compassionate man.
Kris was a man of few words and emulated the bible verse from James 1:19 Be quick to listen, but slow to speak.
As a self-sacrificing servant he thought of others always before himself and was quick to step in to lend a helping hand in many situations. Through the struggles of life, we can see how you were his rock and firm foundation.
Jesus said you will know my disciples by how they love.
As Christ said to the thief on the cross, today June 18th Kristopher you will be with me in paradise.
With love always in our heart for you.
Love Susan, Brad, Nick, Josh, Mom, Dad, Jared, Ang, Jenn and Lil.

I am shocked and saddened to hear about Kris passing away. I grew up next door and have many great memories of Kris as we were growing up. Once in a while, I would babysit Kris and his siblings and there is one time I will never forget. That would be the time that Kris decided to prove that shotguns can be fired in the basement. Thankfully everyone survived and no harm was done. Kris had an investigative mind and working in a laboratory seemed like a good fit for him.
Rest in peace friend and old neighbor.

Kris's passing is a huge loss for our department, where he made critical contributions to our teaching laboratories. He will be missed for that. But more, he will be missed because he was such a kind and generous person. My sympathy to his family.

Kris was the technologist head of my antibiotic research laboratory at the UIowa Carver College of Medicine for eight years. He was bright, inquisitive, extremely well organized, hard-working and dedicated. The people he supervised truly enjoyed working with him. So did I. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a casual sense of ease that made everyone around him instantly feel comfortable. His scientific contributions to the understanding of the problem of antibiotic resistance will last forever. May God bless Kris and his family.

Sue and Family,
I am so sorry for Kris' passing.
We worked in the teaching labs for the last 5 years -- I cannot tell you how many times his skills and generosity saved my class from disaster! I would like to believe that I told him often enough how much I appreciated all that he did for us, but I'm sure I couldn't have told him as frequently as was warranted.
Kris will be sincerely missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Kris' passing. He was one of my brother's best friends as we were growing up, playing on the baseball team that my dad coached, and our families became close, especially our mothers (Jan & Jan) He was always polite and a genuine good kid. He was successful in making the world a better place during his time here.

I am saddened to hear of Kris's passing. I worked with him many years ago when we were both research assistants in the Dept. of Pathology. He always made me laugh and will be remembered as one of the most down to earth and kind-hearted individual I have ever had the pleasure to meet. This is a tragic loss and my deepest sympathies to his wife and sons.

Kris was my supervisor at the University of Iowa Microbiology Teaching Laboratory. I believe we worked well together. I can honestly say he was the best boss I have ever had.

I will remember Kris with a smile for so many reasons. He always beat me to the lab, even when I came super early! He always was upbeat and wanted to share a laugh while we set up lab. How he would shake his head and laugh when a student lit the underside of the cabinet on fire, or picked their swab off of the floor and tried to use it. He was superb at his job and had fun doing it. I will truly miss him.

Our faculty, staff, and students will always remember Kris as an outstanding colleague, friend, and teacher. I still remember clearly that Kris kindly helped my lab moving on Oct 31, 2019 when I joined the department. I am forever grateful for his kind help.
Best wishes,
