Obituary of Donna Jean Ervin

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, April 2, 2023 at the Atalissa Fire Station, Atalissa, Iowa.

Donna J. Ervin, 70, passed away suddenly Wednesday evening January 25, 2023 at her home in Atalissa.

Private family inurnment will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty.

Donna Jean Roszell was born November 27, 1952 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Nile and Mable (Clark) Roszell. She was a graduate of West Branch High School in the Class of 1971. When she was 40 she continued her education and received her A.A. from Kirkwood Community College. On June 27, 1972 she was united in marriage to Kenneth D. Ervin in West Branch.  Donna had a busy working career, she had been employed with Louis Rich Foods, Florilli Trucking, Barclay Law Office, worked as house mom with Pi Beta Phi Sorority at the University of Iowa, Bandag as a travel agent with Travel and Transport and ended her career with Attorney Craig Oppel in Muscatine.

She enjoyed reading, baking, crafting; making cards, scrap booking and doing genealogy.  Donna was most happy spending time with her family and three grandchildren.  

Survivors include her husband of 51 years Kenneth, two children: Chad (Tina) Ervin of Bettendorf and Chris (Emily) Ervin of Williamsburg as well as three grandchildren: Savannah, Caden and Connal. Six siblings: Nile Jr. (Karen) Roszell of West Liberty, Kristeen (Ken) Hubler  of Oregon, Rick (Haydee) Roszell of Iowa City, Sue (Rick) Maurer of West Liberty, Jo Moreira Da Silva of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Lynette Conrad of West Liberty. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nile and Mable, and her granddaughter, Lily.
