The loss of a daughter is quite simply - overwhelming. The grief comes in waves and pounds at your heart when you least expect it. Amy (Ganoe) Pretorius is my daughter and she passed away on June 15th. Stacie and Amy were friends in high school and have remained friends into their adult years. Stacie was at our home in West Branch quite a bit as she also dated my stepson back in high school. At Amy's Celebration of Life, Stacie made sure to give me a big hug and let me know that if I needed anything to be sure and let her know. I think I spent most of July in a state of shock and despair and didn't reach out to Stacie to see how she was doing - and I should have..... I am here for Stacie's family and friends. Most people will say that they know what you are going through - however they don't. Regrettably - I do know and it is all too fresh in my mind and my heart.
