Kathleen “Katie” Meeks, 85, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.  

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Kathleen Ceceilia Polman was born October 22, 1936 in Nichols the daughter of Petrus Albertus and Sophia Marie (Van Aken) Polman. She was a graduate of Lone Tree High School. On November 16, 1956 she was united in marriage to Mark Meeks in Iowa City.

Katie had worked at the West Branch Telephone Company, West Branch State Bank, Hoover Elementary School in West Branch, Rozinek’s Rain Soft of Iowa City and NCS until her retirement. She enjoyed bowling and going to the Casino.

She is survived by her four children Doug Meeks of West Branch, Molly Meeks of West Branch, Patty (Scott) Merritt of Iowa City and Marcy Hamer of West Branch, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one sister Shirley Bohr of Wellman. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Greg, siblings: Dort, infant brother Donald, Donald, Louise, Albert, LeRoy, Darlene and Bob.
