Life Legacy West Liberty, Iowa Wayne W. Hoerrmann, 97, passed Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church or West Liberty Rescue Unit. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. Wayne was born January 5, 1919 in Green Castle, Missouri the son of Ora and Lura Jones Hoerrmann. He was a graduate of Green Castle High School. On August 14, 1941 he was united in marriage to Avis Callihan in Kirksville, Missouri. The couple had lived in several communities before moving to the Atalissa area in 1958. In 1980, Wayne and Avis moved from their family farm to their home in West Liberty. He was a member of the West Liberty Lions Club, Moose Lodge and West Liberty United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming and dancing. Survivors include two children Gloria (Terry) Ulch of Belle Plaine, Iowa and Terry (Diana) Hoerrmann of Lone Tree. 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great granddaughters also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Avis and two sisters Doris Morelock and Lola Burress.
