Richard A. Gatzke, 58, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Riverwood Rehab Center in East Moline, IL.
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 4 P.M. at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Family burial of the cremains will be held in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty at a later date. A memorial fund has been established. Richard was born October 24, 1957 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Herbert and Betty DeVore Gatzke. He attended West Liberty High School. Rich had worked as a farm hand in the area and at Harrison Produce as well as working with Irving Lenker digging graves in several area cemeteries. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
Survivors include two brothers: Ron Gatzke of Muscatine and Don (Maryann) Gatzke of Atalissa, as well as 5 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
