West Liberty, Iowa Wesley J. Butts, 70, died Monday, May 11, 2015 at his home in West Liberty. Funeral services will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday, May 15, 2015 at the West Liberty United Methodist Church with visitation being held 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. A memorial fund has been established. Wes was born October 22, 1944 in Harlan, Iowa the son of John W. and Berneice Meyer Butts. He was a graduate of Harlan Community High School in the class of 1963 and attended Clarinda Community College in Clarinda, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Marlene Stein on September 5, 1964 in Harlan. He had been employed at Rohner Machine Works in West Liberty and later the Pharmacy Dept. at the University of Iowa where he retired. He enjoyed many hobbies including motorcycling, snowmobiling, boating and fishing. He is survived by his wife Marlene of West Liberty. One daughter Kim (Don) Greiner, grandchildren Katie, Sam and Emily Greiner, sister Carol (Ron) Kline and two nephews Derek and Garrett Kline. He is also survived by his faithful companion Duke. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a cousin Donna Mullins.
