Tim, my baby, im sorry I wasn't here to help you in time. Words can't express all feelings I have right. now: grief, devastation, fear, lost...I felt so alone at first until I felt your kiss on my cheek one night. I think you telling me goodbye and I would be alright and then you went with the angels and God. I love you so much baby and miss you like crazy. That wedding ring looked good on you. Hahaha! Goodbye.

I have been gone from West Liberty for a year and a half. I did not know about any of this until I was on Facebook this evening and saw that Mary, Tim's wife, was very depressed today, and now I can see why.
I met Tim when he and Mary were together one winter day some years ago, probably 2011, and then got to know him better when they came to Lenten suppers at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in 2015 where Mary and I attended. He was a good man, and they were very happy.
I am so sorry for your loss Mary. As I said, I would not have been aware that anything had happened in your life if I hadn't been on Facebook this past evening. You, your children and grandchildren, as well as his family have my sympathy in the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, and brother, etc. I also empathize with you as I have lost my mother and father in 1994 and 2014.
If there is anything I can do for you that does not require my driving anywhere, as we have no vehicle, please do not hesitate to call me.
Again, Mary, I do sympathize with you, but I have never lost a spouse nor do I want to, but that is always a chance that we take when we marry. Those who have lost no one can say they understand, but they really don't until they are in the same type of situation themselves.
I am sure that your cat and your dogs are missing him as well. They don't understand these things, but I should say that they probably knew he was going to pass on before anyone else did. Just give them a lot of lovin' so they know that you still care, "Mare." I'm sure he'll be looking out for you even though he's not there physically. People say it will get better, but it does take time and you need a lot of time to grieve as do your animals, and again, please call me if you need to talk.

Grateful to say I rode the bus he drove from my freshman year up until the beginning of my junior year of high school with my three little sisters, he was genuinely a kind man at heart. The bus stop was a block away from where we live but during the winter he’d go out of his way and made sure to pick us up right outside our house every single morning. So many mornings we would run late and yet he would wait outside our house for us. My deepest condolences to his family, may God bless them. He was truly a selfless and caring man.

Tim's family
We are deeply sorry for the loss of your husband and brother. We have fond memories of growing up in West Liberty with the Atkinson family. Tim was a true joy to work with and always had a laugh for us in the office when he stopped in. We will miss him deeply.
