Obituary of Jerry Lee Noe

Jerry Lee Noe, 77, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City.

A memorial service will be held 3 P.M. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. A memorial fund has been established.

Jerry was born in Garrison, Iowa on April 10, 1940 the son of Rufus and Mae (Christy) Noe. He was a graduate of Springville High School. On March 19, 1960 he was united in marriage to Wauthena Thews in Marion, Iowa. For many years he had been employed in housekeeping at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City until his retirement.

Jerry enjoyed working on small engines, mowing the lawn and mowing the neighbor’s lawns as well. He also enjoyed cooking for all, making great chocolate malts and peanut brittle. Jerry was a great husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Wauthena of West Branch. Three children: Kevin (Beth) Noe of West Branch, Kimberly Noe of Davenport and Keith Noe of Coralville, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Two sisters: Joyce Babka of Cedar Rapids and Ruth Archibald of Springville. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jerry Lee Jr. and a brother Alvin.
