West Branch, Iowa Darlene M. Hoffman, 80, died Tuesday November 29, 2016 Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Friday December 2, 2016 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Burial will be in the West Branch Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to West Branch First Responders. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. Darlene was born May 27, 1936 in West Branch the daughter Anton and Jessie (Beck) Slach. She was a graduate of West Branch High School. On September 18, 1955 she was united in marriage to Bruce "Bud" Hoffman in West Branch. Darlene had been employed with West Branch State Bank and later worked at the West Branch School System as a secretary in the Elementary Building. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Federated Women’s Club, enjoyed playing golf, traveling and wintered in Myrtle Beach for several years. Survivors include her two sons: Mike (Koleen) Hoffman of Iowa City and Mark (Nita) Hoffman of Parnell. Three grandchildren: Justine (Adam) Kelley, Sarah Hoffman and Ryan Hoffman, two great grandchildren: Brady and Daniel. She is also survived by a brother in law: Jack (Pat) Hoffman of St. George, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud, son Matthew and five brothers: Floyd, Richard, Robert, Tony and Ardell.
