Terrence Tylee

September 20, 1951 – August 3, 2026

Terrence W. Tylee, 74, of Coralville passed away on August 3, 2026, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Terry was born on September 20, 1951, to William and Betty Jean (Simon) Tylee in New Hampton, IA, which is also where he graduated high school in 1969.

Terry spent more than 40 years working in men's formal wear and 30 plus years umpiring softball and officiating basketball, both careers which he took great pride in.

He was a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan, a loyal supporter of the West Branch Bears, and an avid baseball fan. He was a faithful member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church.

Terry is survived by his children, Jason Tylee of Cedar Rapids, Jarod (Monica) Tylee of West Branch, and Julie (Brandon) Shull of New Sharon; eight grandchildren, Noelani, Mikayla, Addyson, Layden, Hayden, Simon, Leland, and Tucker; and his sister, Tammy (Steven) McCauley of New Hampton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty Jean (Simon) Tylee; an infant sister, Sandra; and his brothers, Timothy and Thomas.

A memorial visitation  and time to remember Terry will be held 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at the Henderson Barker Funeral Home in West Branch, Iowa.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the EMS responders and the staff at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for their care and compassion.
