Trudi L. Wright, 78, passed away Sunday July 5, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Private family services will be held.

Trudi was born March 2, 1948 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Jim and Dorothy (Lehman) Walker. She was the homecoming queen and a graduate of West Branch High School in 1966. In 1998 she was united in marriage to Bruce Wright.

Trudi was a hardworking and dedicated woman who was employed at Louis Rich Foods in West Liberty. She also enjoyed working as a bartender at Wink's Tap and the West Liberty Country Club, where she made many lasting friendships.

Trudi had a thoughtful and generous spirit, often sending handmade cards to family and friends to celebrate special occasions, accomplishments, or milestones she had read about in the newspaper. She enjoyed dancing, an occasional trip to the casino, watching movies and crime shows, bird watching, and entertaining family and friends. Above all, Trudi treasured the time she spent with those she loved. Her family and friends were the center of her life and brought her the greatest joy.

She is survived by her two children, Troy (Michelle Ritter) Thompson of West Branch and Lori Lou Roenfeldt of Atalissa; son-in-law: Casey Hesseltine of Atalissa;  ten grandchildren, Eric (Courtney), Mitchell, Kylie (Ben), Jordan (Amy), Tanner (Alexa), Sidney (Tiffany), Alexandria (Chad), Kennedy (Logan), Andilyn, and August; and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Dennis (Cathy) Walker of Eminence, Missouri, and Jimmy G. (Kathy) Walker of Somerset, Wisconsin, as well as her beloved cat, Riser and many neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bruce; her daughter, Nicki; and her brother, Joseph.
