Judy Kay Wright

Tipton, Iowa — Judy Kay Wright, 77, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, surrounded by her loved ones.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. Interment will follow at Honey Grove Cemetery in West Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friends of the Animals in Tipton.

Judy was born December 24, 1948, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Betty Aegerter. She attended Tipton High School. On October 11, 1969, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Wright at the United Church of Christ in Tipton.

Judy was employed throughout her life at Sky King in West Branch, Kmart in Iowa City, and Crestview Care Center in West Branch, where she retired in 2020. She was always putting the needs of others before her own and finding joy in helping those around her.

She enjoyed working word finds, tending to her garden, spending time with family, watching HGTV and Rookie, caring for the family dog, Ziva, and garage sales. Judy’s kind spirit, generosity, and devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Judy is survived by her children, Trent Wright of West Branch, Michael Wright of Tipton, and Michelle (Jay) Bierman of Tipton; her grandson, Zachary of Stanwood; sisters, Suzanne Coombs of Kentucky, Dawn (John) Hills of Iowa City, and Denise Becicka of Oxford; and her brother, Chuck Murray of Coralville.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Aegerter; her husband, Robert “Bob” Wright; sisters, Jan Wurr, Nancy Donohoe, and Vicky Webb; and her brother, Richard “Dick” Murray.
