Robert “Bobby” A. Huggins, 61, of West Liberty, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.


Visitation will be held 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at the West Liberty Christian Fellowship Church with funeral services to be held immediately following at the church. Burial will be in the North Prairie Cemetery, West Liberty.


Robert Arthur Huggins was born March 27, 1965, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Stephen W. and Mary Jane (Jackson) Huggins. He graduated from West Liberty High School with the Class of 1984. Bobby was employed with Crossroads in Muscatine for many years, where he developed many lasting friendships.


A faithful member of the West Liberty Christian Church, Bobby found great joy in his faith, church family and had his own chair at church. He shared his gift of music each Christmas by singing a song. He had a lifelong love for all things Peanuts, especially Snoopy and Charlie Brown. Bobby was a good friend, he appreciated spending time with friends listening to music, playing trivia and music BINGO. Bobby was known for his vast knowledge of music and history and enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music, with a special fondness for The Beach Boys.


He was quick with the song title, artist and many other facts. At trivia he was call the “ringer”. He called his friends regularly and said “thanks for being my friend”. He fulfilled a life-long dream of going to Nashville over Memorial Day Weekend with Debbie Wilson.


Bobby is survived by his siblings, William “Butch” (Katrina) Huggins of Iowa City, Tom (Kelly) Huggins of Nichols, Patrick Huggins of West Liberty, and Nancy Jackson of Rock Falls, Illinois, nieces and nephews: Brandi (Spencer) Haines, Kelly Harmon, Steve Jackson and Adam Huggins. He is also survived by special friends Cindy Mays, Debbie Wilson, Luann and Bill Hoffman, Missy McCollum, Karen and John Hart and Nola Noring, along with many other friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, friendship, and joyful spirit.


A special thanks to the University of Iowa Hospital and the wound care clinic staff, who always took loving care of Robert as well at the West Liberty Fire, Rescue Unit and EMT's.
