Silvia M. Moran, 68, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at the University of Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus in Iowa City.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Saturday, May 16, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty with funeral Mass immediately following at 12:00 P.M. at the church. Silvia was born November 3, 1957 in Ignacio Allende,  Durango Mexico the daughter of Gonzalo Ramirez Lopez and Maria Salaices. On April 12, 1974, she was united in marriage to Jose Luis Moran in Ignacio Allende. Silvia had been employed with Louis Rich Foods for several years and later with IAC in Iowa City.

Silvia was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was always helping and caring for others and will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and dedication to her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Luis Moran; three children, Patty Solis and Luis O. Moran, both of West Liberty, and Adrian Moran of Iowa City; five siblings, Juan, Jesus, Gonzalo, Vicenta, Kika, and Carmela; 16 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Claudia; and a brother, Javier Gamon.

El velorio se llevará a cabo de 9:00 a. m. a 12:00 p. m. el sábado 16 de mayo de 2026 en la Iglesia Católica de San José en West Liberty, seguido de la misa fúnebre a las 12:00 p. m. en la misma iglesia. El sepelio tendrá lugar en el Cementerio Oak Ridge. Silvia nació el 3 de noviembre de 1957 en Ignacio Allende, Durango, México, hija de Gonzalo Ramírez López y María Salaices. El 12 de abril de 1974 contrajo matrimonio con José Luis Moran en Ignacio Allende. Silvia trabajó durante varios años en Louis Rich Foods y posteriormente en IAC en Iowa City. Silvia era una devota feligresa de la Iglesia Católica de San José. Siempre estaba dispuesta a ayudar y cuidar a los demás, y será recordada por su bondad, compasión y dedicación a su familia y amigos.

Le sobreviven su esposo, José Luis Moran; sus tres hijos, Patty Solis y Luis O. Moran, ambos de West Liberty, y Adrian Moran de Iowa City; sus cinco hermanos, Juan, Jesús, Gonzalo, Vicenta, Kika y Carmela; 16 nietos; y 6 bisnietos.
