In lieu of a funeral service, a Memorial Salute honoring David's life will be held. Military Honors will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the West Liberty Veterans Memorial, 109 W. Rainbow Drive (Highway 6), West Liberty. Family and friends are invited to attend to honor David's service and memory.

David A. Enderle, 77, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in David’s name and will be shared with the Humane Society.

David was born March 7, 1949, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Andrew and Helen (Robinson) Enderle. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School. David proudly served in the United States Army. On June 3, 1972, he was united in marriage to Sandra Zybarth in Wilton.

He enjoyed spending time with his family. In his early years he was active in softball, golfing, and bowling. He also enjoyed bird watching, going to the casino, listening to 60’s music, watching movies, genealogy, visiting the zoo, and telling stories.

David is survived by his wife, Sandra; two children, Jennifer (Dan) Holstad of West Branch and Nicolas (Pam Gatzke) Enderle of Muscatine; and two grandchildren, Johnathan and Ellie Holstad. He is also survived by three sisters—Anita, Karen, and Terry; a special niece and nephew, Karen (Mike) Plock and family of Iowa City and James (Stefanie) Rothert and family of Colorado; as well as several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Steve and by his father/mother in law: Pat and Margaret Zybarth.
