Kent Daniel Kaeser went to be with our Lord on Sunday, February 8 at 3:30 am. after a year long battle with Neuromyelitis Optica. He was cared for at the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon.
Kent was born December 1, 1942 in Monona, Iowa. His parents, Lester and Grace (Smith) Kaeser moved to Iowa City shortly after that. Graduated from Iowa City High School in 1962, after which Kent attended Muscatine Junior College and then enlisted in the United States Army and spent 26 years in the Army National Guard. Kent was very proud of his military service. Kent joined his dad in the Kaeser Plumbing and Heating business in West Branch where he served the community for 32 years. He then went to the University of Iowa Housing and Dining and was very proud of those work accomplishments.
In 1964 he met the love of his life, Judy Hopp at Swisher Dancehall. They married May 14, 1966 and have one son Kurt Kaeser, who was the joy and pride of their life.
Survivors include his wife Judy of Tipton, and son Kurt of Downey, sister Pam Larson (Allen Brown) and six nieces and nephews; a very special niece Robin (Leonard) Jenks. Judy’s family has been very supportive in this difficult year; Harold and Kathy Hopp, Marlene Rich and their children, especially Glenn and Lisa Gerard.
Preceding Kent is his brother Lester Jr. and parents Lester and Grace.
Everyone who knew him, never saw him in slow gear or relaxed. He was a hard worker and loved working. Kent was an individual who always let a person know where they stood. If you knew him, you are chuckling! Kent had a great passion for fishing in Minnesota, NASCAR and all car races, and especially sitting with friends, solving all the world's crises over a cup of coffee.
Family is very grateful for the loving care Kent received at the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon.
Memorial donations may be made to Staff Appreciation at Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon or a memorial of your choice, and mailed to Judy at 48 Hidden River Drive, Tipton, IA 52772.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Bethany Lutheran Church in West Branch, followed immediately by a celebration of life at 11:00 A.M. and military honors.
