Don Alan Jenks, 69, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.


Don was born December 25, 1955, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Donald and Donna (Vogel) Jenks. He graduated from West Liberty High School in 1975. On March 26, 1977, he was united in marriage to Helen Hines in West Liberty.


Don farmed his entire life in the West Liberty area and was also employed by Radford Motor Company in West Branch for 21 years.


He was a devoted Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed NHRA drag racing. Most of all, Don cherished spending time with his family and friends.


He is survived by his two children: Shiann Holladay of Hills, Iowa, and Shawn Jenks of Lone Tree, Iowa; four grandchildren: Madison Holladay, Jolie Jenks, Mollie Jenks, and Trey Jenks; and three great-grandchildren: Mila, Helena, and Kinsley.


He is also survived by his brothers-in-law: Randy White of Tipton, Iowa, and Tracy (Cindy) White of DeWitt, Iowa; and sisters-in-law: Anne (Chris) Jackson of Davenport, Iowa, Julie White of West Liberty, Iowa, and Dena (Kirk) Reynolds of Solon, Iowa.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; his sister, Lynette Broden; and his brother-in-law, Rick Hines.


A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Hills Community Center, 110 Main Street, Hills, Iowa 52235 from 11 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. 


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Iowa City Hospice.


Family graveside services will be held at a later date at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty.
