Kerry Elizabeth Norrgard-Gerhard passed away early on October 4 at the Simpson Memorial Home, where she had been a hospice resident for about 12 days.
Kerry was born on January 2, 1959, in Vinton, Iowa. She was 66 years old when she died. She was a longtime resident of West Liberty, making it her home for about 25 years.
Kerry was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Norrgard-Gerhard; her mother, Dorothy Mae Norrgard; her father, Clyde Lewis Norrgard; and her younger brother, Chad Lewis Norrgard.
She is survived by her older siblings, Jeanne Lenore Norrgard, of Freeland, Washington, and Todd Clinton Norrgard, of Carthage, New York; and her close friend, Sandra Henderson, of West Liberty.
Kerry earned an MA in Theology from the University of Iowa and provided Christian education at First Church United of West Liberty.
Kerry was a talented seamstress, an avid reader, gardener, and artist. She shared with husband Peter a love of food, including growing and processing it, and gourmet preparation.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 10:00 am at First Church United, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 am. All are welcome to attend.
Memorial gifts may be made to the West Liberty food pantry in her name.
