Destiny Michelle Brumbaugh of Durant, Iowa passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the age of 42. 

She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on November 20, 1982 to Earl and Helen Brumbaugh, the youngest of three daughters. Destiny graduated from West High School in 2001 before going on to earn a degree in Floral Careers from Kirkwood Community College in 2002. During her long career as a florist, she worked at Jan’s Flower Yard in West Liberty, Iowa for many years before opening a shop of her own called The Flower Yard. 

Destiny’s love of flowers could not compare to the love she held for her family. Her greatest dream was to be a mother and her children were the light of her life. 

Destiny leaves behind Serenity (15), Alice (13), Viveca (6), Johann (6), and Emma (3). In addition to her children, she is survived by her parents Earl & Helen Brumbaugh, sisters Jessica Bradshaw and Julia Brumbaugh, her nephew and nieces, and her partner Dustin Young. Awaiting for her in death is her late husband Jason Alden. 

Visitation will be held 10:00 to 12:00 Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty.
