Aaron Clay Stiff, 61, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Aaron was born June 13, 1964, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of M. Joe and Velma (Stafford) Stiff. He graduated from West Liberty High School in 1982 and went on to attend ITT Technical Institute.
As a young man, Aaron was active in the Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He married Jennifer Boedeker, and together they were blessed with a son, Clayton. The couple later divorced, but later found his significant other Sherri Baldwin.
Aaron worked as an electrician specializing in irrigation systems and also taught classes in irrigation. One of his joys was working at Boedeker Nursery in Higginsville, Missouri, before returning to Kansas City, where he resumed his work in the electrical field.
He was known as a true “MacGyver,” Aaron could fix or create whatever was needed, finding innovative solutions to any problem.
He is survived by his son, Clayton; three sisters: Myrna Kirkpatrick, Tracy Peters, and Kara (Justin) Kruse, all of West Liberty, Iowa; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Velma Stiff.
A celebration of life visitation will be held 11:00 to 12:30 P.M. Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty.
