Obituary of Bill Robertson

William C Robertson, 67, of West Branch passed away April 20, 2025 in his home surrounded by his children. 

A memorial visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Henderson Barker funeral home in West Branch.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bill Robertson Memorial Fund, c/o Henderson-Barker Funeral Home, PO Box 206, West Branch, Iowa 52358

Bill was born May 31, 1957 in Ames Iowa to Walter and Margie (Quade) Robertson. He graduated from Ames high in 1975.

Bill was associated in management at Hy-Vee for many years at various stores in Ames, Des Moines, Kansas City, Lincoln and Iowa City. He took great pride in taking care of his employees. Bill retired in 2016 after 40 years with the company. 

He enjoyed spending his free time outdoors. Bill loved fishing, hunting and supporting various organizations like Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited and Aiming for a Cure. 

In his last days, Bill enjoyed 3am brownies with Katie, fires on the deck with Jack, and encouraging Molly to purchase livestock. 

Bill is survived by his three children: Molly (Nick) Troyer of West branch, Katie Robertson (Future son-in-law Sam Hulstein Rieken) of Carlisle and Jack Robertson of West Branch, step son: Evan Yeutsy of Coralville, Brother: Chuck (Mary) Robertson of Estero Florida and sister: Linda M. Gibbs and brother-in-law (Tim Sharpe) of Clive. As well as multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
