West Branch, Iowa Nadine Kochinski, 95 passed away peacefully Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Crestview Specialty Care Center in West Branch. Memorial services are pending in Traverse City, Michigan. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Branch, Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Nadine was born July 29, 1921 in Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Orville and Treva (Leach) Wallace. She was a graduate of Elk Rapids High School where she was the salutatorian and later attended business school. On October 14, 1943 she was united in marriage to Robert James Kochinski, he passed away May 24, 1964. Nadine had worked as a loan officer at Bank of America for over 30 years in Oxnard, California. She was a member of Santa Clara Catholic Church in Oxnard, CA, and St. Rose of Lima Paso Robles, CA. Nadine was a devoted Catholic, a lover of road trips, especially with son Bob as chauffeur, a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, a teacher of English as a second language, an avid gardener, a thrift shop lover, a yummy baker, a terrific interior decorator/ homemaker and was truly a sweetheart of a mom and grandmother. She is lovingly survived by her children Robert Kochinski of Albion, Michigan and Barbara (Pete) Kennedy of Iowa City, Iowa. Brother: Ron (Karen) Barnes of Fife Lake, MI, 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A special thank you to the awesome, devoted staff at Crestview, devoted caregivers with Care Initiatives Hospice and also to Molly Prado, Ron Belben and all other dear friends who helped in our mother's ability to live independently for so many years.
