West Liberty, Iowa Mark Christy Tompkins, 52, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his home in West Liberty surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral service will be held Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 4 P.M. at the Community Center 1204 N. Calhoun St., West Liberty. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 P.M. at the Community Center prior to the funeral. Family burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. A memorial fund has been established at the Hills Bank and Trust. Mark was born January 12, 1965 at Perrin Air Force Base in Texas the son of John William and Judy Ann (Yordt) Tompkins. On July 16, 1988 he was united in marriage to Jacque Marie Tompkins in Nichols, Iowa. He was employed with McCommas-Lacina Construction. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, jeeping and singing Karaoke. Mark was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, most importantly he enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Jacque of West Liberty. Three daughters: Heather (Jake) Larsen of Bettendorf, Iowa, Megan O'Neil of Solon, Iowa and Shari (Jason) Hoffert of West Liberty. Grandchildren: Chancelor Christofferson, Jack Larsen, Knox O'Neil, Ruby Larsen, and Violet Hoffert. Parents: John and Judy Tompkins of Muscatine, brother Tyler Tompkins of Muscatine, sisters: Laura Kisner of Muscatine, Valerie (Joe) Tompkins living in Florida and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Ella Tompkins, John and Laura Yordt and a brother Mitchell Tompkins.
